The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) now requires new FAA Certificate Applicants and current FAA Certificate Holders with a foreign address authorized under FAA FAR Part 47, 61, 63, 65, 67 or 107 to designate a U.S. Agent for Service under FAA 14 CFR Part 3, Subpart C.

FAA Applicable FARs:

• FAR 41: Aircraft Registration
• FAR 61: Pilots, Flight Instructors and Ground Instructors
• FAR 63: Flight Crewmembers other than Pilots
• FAR 65: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) and Inspection Authorization (IA).
• FAR 67: FAA Medical Certificates
• FAR 107: Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) - Drones

To comply with the new FAA Regulation, affected certificate holders must designate a US Agent for Service / AMT School which is an agent authorized to receive official FAA correspondence on your behalf, including FAA certifications, legal notices, emergency orders, and other critical documents. This ensures timely delivery and compliance with FAA requirements. Deadline Dates:

• New applicants must designate a U.S. agent by April 2, 2025, to receive FAA certifications.
• Existing FAA certificate holders are required to comply by July 7, 2025, to maintain their certifications.
• After the FAA rule is published on the above date, new certificates will not be issued to applicants with a foreign address, unless they designate a US Agent.

What occurs if I do not designate an agent by the above deadline dates:

New applicants: New FAA certificates will not be issued. You will not be able to complete your FAA certification.

Existing applicants: Loss of your FAA certification privileges. You will not be permitted to exercise any FAA certificates, ratings or authorizations. FAA enforcement actions may also be taken.

How to Comply with the FAA New Ruling:

After registering, you will receive access to your secured portal with instructions on how to certify AMT School as your US Agent for Service on the FAA US Agent for Service System (USAS) web site. You will need to provide AMT School’s information, including the AMT School’s US Agent for Service address. This address will be provided to you in your portal after registration.

Note: AMT School’s US Agent for Service address is different than our AMT School address.

What AMT School does to keep you in compliance with the FAA:

AMT School assists FAA A&P Technicians, Inspectors (IA), Pilots, and Flight Crewmembers, with foreign addresses by becoming their U.S. Agent for Service. AMT School will act as your primary contact for receiving and forwarding official FAA communications on your behalf.

1. We provide you a dedicated US address for official FAA correspondences.
2. We provide you with a personal secured portal.
3. We receive and digitally scan all of your FAA received correspondences.
4. We upload your FAA correspondences to your secured portal.
5. We immediately email you to notify you that your FAA correspondence was uploaded to your portal.

Examples of FAA correspondences may include:

1. FAA certifications such as FAA A&P, FAA IA, FAA Pilot & Flight Crewmember Certifications.
2. Safety-Critical or Time-Sensitive Documents.
3. Emergency Orders requiring immediate action.
4. Notices of Proposed Civil Penalties informing you of potential fines due to regulatory violations.
5. Orders of Suspension or Revocation pertaining to the status of your FAA certificates.

• Step 3: Designate AMT School on the FAA web site as your FAA U.S. Agent for Service (instructions with your new US Agent for Service Address will be provided on your portal).

AMT School receives your FAA correspondences, immediately uploads them to your portal and notifies you via email. FAA physical documents required to be mailed to you are mailed securely via FedEx at a discounted fee.
