Description

This course prepares an Airline or MRO Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, troubleshoot and rectify defects, along with the certification to Return to Service the aircraft type by successfully completing this 120 hour course. The 120 Hour Initial Training Course provides in depth technical information in all relevant ATA chapters, including a detailed description of each system and its individual Major Components, Sensing Elements, Position Feedback reporting, Interfacing, along with providing "Valid Signals" with other Aircraft "USER" Systems.

Training Objective

This course is designed to train the experienced Technician with knowledge to perform MRO Base Maintenance Tasks and Maintenance Completion Certification, Multiple Levels of Line Maintenance Transit & Overnight Checks, RII Inspections, along with the approval for the Certificate of Release to Service.

Course Objectives

This course satisfies ATA 104 Level III objectives. Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:

• Safety precautions when near and around the aircraft in the hangars and at the gate.
• General Log Book Procedures & Documents. An in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the aircraft systems with their operative functions: Electrical AC & DC Generation, Pneumatics, Air Conditioning, Fuel System & Refueling Procedures, Hydraulics, Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Ice/Rain, Fire Protection, APU and Engines, Oxygen, Water/Waste, Equipment/Furnishings, Lights, Doors and Windows, Cargo & Storage areas. Locations of the above system principal components and access to those components. Servicing of the above system principal components.
• Ground test procedures and operational function checks of the above system principal components.
• Recognition of Normal, Non-Normal, Defect and Fault indications provided by Aircraft Instruments, Flight Deck displays, BITE tests, and Alternate System switching. Aircraft troubleshooting with reference to the FIM/FRM, application of the MEL and the CDL with reference to the release of the aircraft.
• Avionics Systems- an in depth description, operation, and understanding of Communications, Auto Pilot, Glass cockpit & Instruments, ILS System, EICAS, EFIS, CMC & MAT, and Navigation systems along with FDR, ELT, & CVR functions.
• Certificate of Release to Service and the responsibilities associated.
